UAS4STEM Search And Rescue Challenge Promotes UAS Technology In High School

The UAS4STEM challenge is a search and rescue challenge that encourages students ages 11 to 19 to explore sUAS technology. The Academy of Model Aeronautics and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University contest requires teams of up to eight members to  build a Quadzilla sUAS and use it in a mock search and rescue mission. The deadline to register is Dec. 31. The contest will take place in the Spring of 2017 at various regional sites. Regional winners and other invited teams advance to the national event.

  • Lakeland, Florida
  • San Diego, California
  • Detroit, Michigan
  • New York
  • Dallas, Texas
  • Seattle, Washington
  • Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • St. Louis, Missouri

The fee is $2,495 per team for first-time teams. Returning teams pay $795 plus new student course fee ($65 per student).
